What to Expect

Sunday Services

The worship service at Spurgeon Heritage Church would be called “traditional” in today’s society. Our worship service consists of standard hymns but we are not opposed to other types of music as long as Christ is exalted.  Our worship service focuses on the public reading of God’s Word along with expository preaching from our pastor. Our pastor has a firm commitment to preach sound doctrine so that all believers have a strong doctrinal foundation to live their daily lives.

Upon arrival on Sunday mornings, at 9:50 a.m.,  we have an informal time during which we are able to get coffee.

We are currently restructuring and are not offering Sunday school at this time.
When we have a Children’s Sunday school time it will incorporate Bible memorization, theology brought down to their appropriate level, along with a flannelgraph story. We utilize the Betty Luken’s flannelgraph visual along with the Desiring God curriculum. We seek to build a firm foundation for our children to build off of and grow in the knowledge of our Lord.

We begin our worship service at 10:00 a.m. Our service includes Old and New Testament readings, corporate prayers, responsive reading, and music. Our pastor practices expository preaching verse by verse through the Bible.

Children are welcome to join us in any of the services. We encourage corporate family worship and are understanding of children and all the various noises they may make.

Our main focus at Spurgeon Heritage Church is to do all things to the honor and glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. In our day when many Christians are unclear about what they believe, it is the goal of our pastor to vigorously teach the people of Spurgeon Heritage Church so that they are fully equipped for ministry and able to “give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;”

If you are interested in learning how to give a reason for the hope that is in you,” we would invite you to worship with us.
