Sunday services
Upon arrival on Sunday mornings, we have an informal time during which we are able to get coffee and other beverages along with cookies or other treats that have been prepared.
Our services begin each Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. with our Sunday school time. We have one adult class that is taught by the Pastor. For the children’s classes, our church uses the excellent and acclaimed curriculum from Desiring God Ministries. The most important gift we can give children is to teach them the attributes and character of God.
We begin our worship service at 11:00 a.m. Our service includes Old and New Testament readings, corporate prayers, responsive reading, music, memorization of scripture and the song of the month. The song of the month is a song that is new to the congregation and which is sung once each Sunday for an entire month. Our pastor practices expository preaching verse by verse through the Bible.
From 12:00 to 1:00, our church family joins together for a community meal.
We gather together at 1:00pm for our final service of the day. Instead of meeting for the traditional Sunday evening service, our church has chosen for the convenience of our members to meet at 1:00 p.m. Our afternoon service takes place on the lower level and is a more informal session during which the congregation may interact with the pastor as he is teaching/preaching.
Our main focus at Spurgeon Heritage Church is to do all things to the honor and glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. In our day when many Christians are unclear about what they believe, it is the goal of our pastor to vigorously teach the people of Spurgeon Heritage Church so that they are fully equipped for ministry and able to “give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;”
If you are interested in learning how to “give a reason for the hope that is in you,” we would invite you to worship with us.
